ASM Art Specifications

Branding merchandise

Shirts, caps, bags are screen printed, embroidered, digitally printed or have digitally printed transfers or cutout vinyl (numbers, simple images) applied.

Keyrings, mugs and other hard surface items are engraved, pad printed or have transfers applied.

Both of the above categories can be printed by sublimation.

The method of decoration will be  determined by the complexity of your image, size, position, deadline and budget. We will give you options when we see your image.

For most decorating an Illustrator EPS Vector logo is foolproof. This allows us to manipulate the image.

A PDF can present problems but if used should have FONTS OUTLINED. High res Jpegs are acceptable for some methods such as embroidery. Engraving requires a vector EPS file.

Single or spot colour printing

Pad printing, screen printing, engraving or embroidery as a simple design - a black and white PDF without grey scale and supply of the PMS colours is the best option.

Full colour printing

For digital printing and screen printing as cmyk please supply a vector EPS file. (outlined)
Bleed allow 3mm.   Small images should be 600 DPI.

Big Format and Digital Printing

. Illustrator with all place files. Convert fonts to outlines

. Flattened Photoshop including die-cut/profile path if required
. InDesign including all placed images, logos, fonts and other elements
. PDF supplied at Print Quality
. Fonts should be converted to outlines prior to producing the PDF
Please note: No type corrections can be made to outlined text

Set up at 150 DPI at 100%
Bleed allowance will vary with the application.

Pull-up Banners

Artwork should be set at 10mm less than the base case width (850 case requires banner 840 wide) with no side bleed but 25mm bleed on top and 90mm bleed on the bottom of the visual area.

For direct print to corflute and other boards allow 20mm bleed. Vinyl banners do not usually require bleed.

For files over 8 MB please contact us for instructions.
